1. Short & classic cuts
Low-maintenance styles with clean lines.
- Buzz cut – Uniform, ultra-short length with clippers.
- Crew cut – Short on top, tapered sides; timeless Ivy League staple.
- Caesar cut – Short horizontal bangs, uniform length; great for receding hairlines.
- High and tight – Military classic: very short sides, slightly more on top.
2. Fade & taper variations
The fade and taper are the foundation of many modern styles.
- Taper – Gradual decrease from top to natural hairline.
- Fade – Hair fades into the skin for a sharp look.
- Low fade – Starts just above the ears, subtle.
- Mid fade – Begins at the temples; versatile.
- High fade – Starts near the crown; bold, high-contrast.
3. Medium & textured styles

- Undercut – Long on top, buzzed or shaved sides (disconnected).
- Quiff – Textured, brushed-up front.
- Pompadour – Voluminous, swept up and back.
- Textured crop (French crop) – Textured top, blunt fringe.
